With all these nude and semi-nude selfies on social media featuring the perfect bikini bodies, artist Aleah Chapin thought she would show the world something different. Inspired by the recent transition of her cousin, Qwill, the artist painted all types of different bodies, including both females and males, to show how similar we all really are in the end.

Enough internet for the day. Mature content? Beautiful work. Beautiful pallet. I love the life and energy in these portraits. You've painted the person and captured their spirit. Could be sex reassignment, could be a breast cancer survivor.
Either way, beautiful. This is me in about ten years. I hope I have this kind of confidence that she exudes. Pretty sure the point of this is not what anyone finds appealing but rather the truth behind the skin. That we are all the same.
These people showed great trust in the artist to reveal themselves this way and by turning it into what you do or do not find appealing you are most likely missing the message. Im sorry for you in that aspect and hope you find the message with more thought. Boobs and genitals are the only physical difference between males and females : the rest is the same a male can have a lot of female physical elements and vice versa. Would love you to do a life size painting of me! Is there a way to have this done?
My email is ajfjrbjb yahoo. My only question is Why are we, as a society, so scared to present men the same amount as women in posts and stories such as this? I'm a Panda bear and maybe should live in a zoo, eat leaves of bamboo, but I'd like to spend my time just posting for you! Some of these were a little weird for me, but she is an amazingly talented artist.
Those look like real photos. I never understood this idea of "what real people look like. These double standards don't need to exist. This world should have tolerance for ALL types of bodies and if people worked hard for it we shouldn't make them feel bad about it by calling OTHER body types "real" and theirs not. I don't think it is the "fit" people being targeted here.
It's more those pictures broadcasted that are photoshopped within an inch of reality, no matter if it's selfies on facebook, twitter, instagram, etc. What's wrong with a wrinkle, scar, uneven skin or the little imperfections each and everyone of us owns.
In my opinion, nothing, yet it seems almost a crime in the media and on social platforms. This comment is hidden. Click here to view. I'll get a lot of hate for saying this, but I thought all of these paintings were very, very nasty! That is all. I think it's hard for men to understand the effect on women, of being bombarded with images of physical perfection. They can deny themselves the right to enjoy life fully; partake of all life's pleasures, because they believe their bodies aren't perfect enough. The antidote is to bombard them with images of women having fun, regardless of what life has done to their bodies.
You can't be expected to understand that for once, these images were not created for your viewing pleasure, for you to judge. Their beauty lies in the courage of these people,to share with us something so private, and say " hey look how imperfectly perfect we all are!
Look at our spirits shining through regardless or because of our physical imperfections. The point is that these images represent the human body with standard effects of age. From statistics on average body shape and type, these are not out of the ordinary for humans over their mid's, regardless of country and culture. The fact that they appear "nasty" is because you are not used to viewing people as they are.
It's a very small minority of women who either have more money, time or lucky genetics who would still look like a magazine cover, and you are getting "hate" for calling bodies nasty because it is an unrealistic and mean-spirited thing to call most people's bodies' ugly for simply aging or having a child. Further, I don't see how it benefits anyone to share that you find people nasty to look at one they are out of an adolescent level of physical beauty.
Lisa, you think men aren't bombarded with images of physical perfection? You're not the only one Joe Dad. I'll give anyone props for having the guts to do this, but other than that I don't see the point. Unfortunately, people are too self centered to think about that side of things though.
